The best advice I can give someone starting a diet is to ditch your scale. Stock your pantry and fridge with healthy foods and throw the rest out. Eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. Try to pay special attention to how you feel and how your body looks--not the amount of pounds on the scale. The first two weeks of my diet were the hardest because I was doing so well, but the pounds weren't moving. I did notice however that my body look firmer, and that my clothes fit better.
