Fruit-2-O Energy Bottle
Fruit-2-O is a non-carbonated flavored water, and as such, is positioned to compete in both the water market and the soft drink market. With their Fruit-2-Energy product, they have entered the energy drink market as well.
Fruit-2-O Energy, which comes only in the Raspberry flavor, is sweetened by the Splenda/Ace-K combination (Ace-K stands for Acesulfame Potassium). As such, it contains no calories, sugar or carbohydrates.
In addition to the standard Fruit-2-0 fare, the Energy version contains 60mg of caffeine per 8-ounce serving, which translates to 120 mg for a standard 16-ounce bottle, which give the bottle more caffeine than a cup of drip brewed coffee (115 mg). That is quite a punch!
The 16-ounce bottle provides and adequate amount of water to quench a big thirst, and if you thirst is a bit smaller, simply screw the cap back on and stick it in the refrigerator - there is no chance that it will lose it's fizz since it never had any to beging with!
In addition to a sufficient amount of caffeine, each 16-ounce bottle comes with 40% of the RDA for vitamins B-6 and B-12 for an added energy boost.
The raspberry flavor is nothing special; it tastes like a watered down Kool-Aid. I think the problem is that it doesn't quite do enough to mask the caffeine taste. The bitter taste of caffeine is noticeable, but not over power. Overall, the flavor is much better than caffeinated waters of the past, but the combination of the sweet raspberry flavor and the bitter caffeine takes some getting used to.
I would definitely recommend the Fruit-2-O energy to anyone who is looking for a pick me up and would rather have a non-carbonated beverage to quench their thirst.
